Dear Colleagues, Scientists and Members of the LIBS community,
The 8th Euro-Mediterranean Symposium on Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy will be held from 14th to 18th of September 2015 in Linz, Austria. We welcome researchers from all over the world to join this Symposium and to exchange their ideas, results, and knowledge on laser-induced plasma spectroscopy. The EMSLIBS 2015 conference will be hosted at the Johannes Kepler University Linz, which is ranked among the world’s best young universities (“Times Higher Education 100 Under 50″). The city of Linz and the state of Upper Austria are among the most modern and competitive industrial regions in Europe.
We are preparing a conference aiming at the high level of scientific expertise established by the previous bi-annual EMSLIBS symposia. It is our intention to promote the development of new perspectives, ideas, and applications of laser-induced plasma and plasma spectroscopy and to support the exploitation of knowledge reached by the LIBS community. The main goal of the Symposium 2015 is to provide a platform to scientists for the exchange of information on the fundamental and applied research in LIBS and on the development of related technologies. The conference program will comprise oral presentations, invited presentations, permanent poster sessions, and exhibitions and vendor sessions. Social events during the meeting will be organized in order to encourage informal discussions between participants.
We kindly invite you and the researchers from academic and industrial institutions to take part in this conference, to support this event by your expertise and knowledge, and to share your passion for laser-induced plasma science and technology.
It is a great pleasure and an honor for us to organize this conference and we look forward to meeting you at the 8th EMSLIBS symposium in Linz.
On behalf of the organization committee,
Johannes D. Pedarnig
Chair of EMSLIBS 2015
